Rabies Clinic

Stafford County Animal Shelter hosts an annual rabies clinic once a year during the spring time. Everyone is welcome to sign up to receive a 1 year or 3 year rabies vaccine.  Dogs and cats are welcome!  Dogs must be on leash, and cats must be in carriers.  Animals must be at least 4 months of age. There is no limit to how many animals you can sign up. Rabies vaccines are $10.00 each. It is the responsibility of the owner to provide proof of previous rabies vaccines in order to receive a 3 year vaccine. If proof is not provided, it will be mark on the certificate as a 1 year. 

The rabies clinic is drive thru only and all owners and pets must remain in the vehicle until they are directed otherwise. There are deputies, volunteers, and staff available to assist with any questions or direction. 

Stafford County Animal Shelter is not responsible for any pet(s) that get loose during the rabies clinic. Please make sure your animals are secured for their safety and yours. 

Rabies Clinic dates and times will be announced on our website and Facebook social media. It is also advertised at the treasure's office and animal shelter. Registration for the rabies clinic is done online or in person at the treasurer's office.

 

You can NOT register at the animal shelter.

Payment must be made at the time of pre-registration.  There will be no refunds in the event that you pre-register and cannot make the clinic.

 

What to bring the day of the clinic:

 

A copy of your animals' vaccination history

Three year rabies tags will be available with proof of prior rabies vaccinations. If no proof is available or if the rabies vaccination has expired by more than one month, a one year rabies tag will be issued.

 

A copy of your pre-registration receipt

Print your receipt from your online registration or you will be given a receipt when you pre-register in the Treasurer's Office.
