Due to the recent impact of the Coronavirus across the country, the Stafford County Animal Shelter as taking temporary measures that are aimed to prevent the spread of the virus, shorten its impact and ensure the health and safety of our employees as well as the general public. We are following government guidance and like many other organizations we are taking precautions.

At this time the Stafford Animal Shelter is open for walk-ins.  We are still doing APPOINTMENT ONLY for owner surrenders and stray animal(s) drop off within the county. At this time, while walk-ins are welcome, we are limiting the number of visitors in the building.

We are providing daily updates on our Facebook page, Pet finder, and the shelter Website to ensure we keep the public informed on all our current shelter residents.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, we will still be at the shelter during normal hours answering phone calls and emails. To set up appointments or speak to staff in general you may call 540-658-7387 or email us at Animal Control Officers are still actively responding to animal complaints.

We will continue to adapt our approach as needed as the situation evolves.
